Free Community Music Concerts May 31st and June 7th
The Weir River Concert Band
“Celebrate America through Music”

The concert will include traditional and contemporary music that is part of America’s musical history to celebrate our country’s 250th celebration.
Music by Aaron Copeland, John Williams and John Phillip Sousa along with many other pieces that represent the music will be featured. The band will also be joined by vocalist Karen Guertin and guest conductor Ian Wykes for an afternoon of great music.
The Weir River Concert Band is celebrating its 21st year of performing for the local communities. The band is 40+ members strong with musicians from several surrounding communities including Ware, Palmer, Monson, Gilbertville, Hardwick, Rutland, The Brookfields and Spencer. We have members of all ages and playing abilities.
Weir River Jazz
“Jazz in June”
Sunday, June 7 at 2:00pm.
Weir River Jazz is a group based on the traditional Jazz Ensemble and Big Band formats directed by John Sacco.
River Jazz grew out of the concert band to focus on jazz and improvisation. This June vocalist Donna-Lee DePrille will join the band concert.
A career veteran, John P. Sacco was awarded the Silver Star for his actions in Vietnam in October of 1969. He trained at Boston Conservatory and taught music in the public schools.
Stone Church Cultural Center

The public is invited to bring lawn chairs. Tents, refreshments and accessible facilities will be provided. Both concerts are free, with donations to FOSC accepted at all events for the cultural center’s preservation and service to the community.
